Prince Harry has settled his lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch's U.K. newspaper division in a shock U-turn that brings an end to a six-year marathon courtroom grudge match.
The Duke of Sussex sued News Group Newspapers [NGN], publisher of The Sun, in 2019 alleging that journalists had used unlawful practices to obtain stories about his private life.
He brought the case alongside Tom Watson, a former lawmaker and previously deputy leader of the U.K.'s Labour Party.

media arm offered "a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex" not only for breaching his privacy but also that of Diana, Princess of Wales, his mother.
Why It Matters
The stakes were high after Harry previously accused Prince William of taking money to go "quietly" rather than pursuing a case against NGN to court.
And Harry was expected to go the distance after stating that he brought the litigation "specifically for truth and accountability," rather than the money.
