Biography of Jimmy Savile
English DJ and television presenter, Jimmy Savile, was best known as the host of the show 'Jim'll Fix It' and as the first and last presenter of the long-running BBC music chart show 'Top of the Pops'.
He was also actively involved in charity work.
Early Life
James Savile was born in Leeds, England. He was the youngest of seven children born to Vincent Joseph Marie Savile and Agnes Monica.

At the age of five months, Savile nearly died from pneumonia, but fortunately, he recovered. During World War II, Savile worked in the coal mines of West Yorkshire. He suffered a serious back injury during a mining accident, which took a long time to recover from.
